Fashion designer Georgina Chapman's new West Village condo

Georgina Chapman who has a successful fashion label and her very own jewellery line and her brother Edward, who serves as chief executive of her Marchesa fashion label, have paid $1.7 million for a condo in West Village. Considering that Ms. Chapman-by all accounts-continues to live with her movie mogul bulldozer of a husband, Harvey Weinstein, it is certainly a possibility that Ms. Chapman put her name on the deed to help her brother purchase the apartment for himself, with no plans of living there herself or they're planning to use it for visiting friends and family.
The beautiful, contemporary 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom is located at 99 Jane Street. The apartment, which boasts a "sun-filled" living room as well as a professional kitchen with stainless steel appliances, includes other luxurious amenities such as the limestone master bath with a separate stall shower and Whirlpool tub and an L-shaped balcony overlooking the Washington Commons Park.
The building, one of the largest post-World War II buildings in the West Village, offers 24-hour doorman services, a water filtration system and on-site parking. Not to mention being "just steps to the shops, galleries and restaurants of the fashionable Meat Packing District and the new Hudson River Park."

Billy Joel's Ex-Wife Perry Street House Deal

After his divorce from third wife Katie Lee Joel( the reason blamed to be simply “the age difference”, even so rumors said Top Chef” host Katie Lee had questionable relationship with a hot, younger fashion designer), Billy Joel sold his share in the Perry Street townhouse to his ex-wife for $3 million. He bought a three-story townhouse on Perry Street in 2005 from artist and heir Seward Johnson for $5.9 million.
The downtown New York town house (in the West Village) was designed for couple with the help of Nate Berkus. The floorplan was updated with the help of architect, Ahmad Sardar-Afkhami, who knocked down several walls to create an open, gracious space, perfect for entertaining. After all, this was the home of a chef and the Piano Man!

Harry Potter's new West Village home.

Harry Potter has a nice new West Village house.
This lovingly renovated townhouse is one of three adjoining homes built by a sea captain in 1847 for his three daughters. The property is on one of New York’s most picturesque tree-lined landmark cobblestone blocks: West 12th Street, between Greenwich and Washington Streets. The 18 plus-foot-wide house faces South, and is soaked in sunlight throughout the day. The sizeable open garden and backyard is cooled by beautiful old trees and landscaping. The ground floor hosts a separate one bedroom apartment with a wood burning fireplace and a picture window facing the garden. It can easily be rented to produce income. The main residence spans three floors with a living room, dining room, kitchen, powder room, 4 bedrooms, three baths, a balcony overlooking the garden, and 6 working fireplaces. This is a must-see for anyone looking for a townhouse in a prime West Village location, close to the meatpacking district and the new High Line park.
He has even more local real estate. Actor Daniel Radcliffe has been spreading his real estate seed all over downtown Manhattan for years. He snagged a $4.3 million condo in Jean Nouvel's stunning 40 Mercer in Soho, and later added an equally expensive 3BR pad in the West Village's 1 Morton Square.

Nicolas Cage's Olympic Tower condo

Last November, Nicolas Cage put his 3,550-square-foot, 48th-floor, five-bedroom, two-unit apartment in Olympic Tower at 641 Fifth Ave Midtown East on the market for exactly one day: The $9.75 million condo was pulled once a reporter called the actor's broker to ask about it.
Eight months later, his apartment was back on at the same price. But was sold this November for $7.5 million.
The home is the combination of two 48th-floor condos with a total 3,550 square feet of space designed by LM Pagano, who decorated boats for Cage and his pal Johnny Depp. The buyer is a New York-based limited liability company.
The three-bedroom, 3½-bath residence is classy. The master bathroom, which has a tub and steam shower, is caked in lights and what seems to be some kind of bright black marble; the 32-foot-long living/dining room has two Eames Lounge Chairs on a very shaggy white carpet; and there's a long glass table topped with what seem to be glass figurines of two skyscrapers and the Statue of Liberty. The Olympic Tower, a 51-story building in Manhattan near St. Patrick’s Cathedral, has a history of prestige and elegance. Constructed in 1975, the building contains 225 condominium apartments and more than 250,000 square feet of office space and retail space. The NBA offices are located in the tower between the 14th and 19th floors.
